Three things, stated plainly. If any of them is what you actually want, UCL Fantasy is the right game for you and you should go and play it.
It is the official game.
Real badges, real kits, prize draws and a player base in the millions. Nothing here competes with that.
Midweek football is its whole point.
If what you want is something to play on a Tuesday night in the Champions League, that is precisely the game it is and precisely the game this is not.
Unlimited transfers on most matchdays.
A far more forgiving game. No four-point hits, no banking, no punishment for changing your mind.

- It only runs for part of the year. The league phase and knockouts, then nothing. This runs 37 gameweeks from August to May.
- Only 36 clubs, and only the big ones. No mid-table Serie A, no promoted Bundesliga side, no cheap Ligue 1 defender who plays every week.
- Your domestic favourites mostly aren't in it. If your club isn't in Europe this season, it isn't in the game.
Both games are free to try and neither locks you out of the other. The honest recommendation for most people reading this page is to play both and drop whichever you stop opening.

What is the best alternative to UEFA Champions League Fantasy?
Nothing replaces it for midweek European football — it is the official game and it owns that slot. What people usually want alongside it is something that runs all season, since UCL Fantasy goes quiet between rounds. Fantasy Football Europe is a season-long game across the five domestic leagues those same clubs play in, free, with 37 gameweeks from August to May.
Can I play UCL Fantasy and a domestic fantasy game at once?
Yes, and the two barely overlap. One runs on Champions League matchdays, the other on weekends. Plenty of managers run both plus FPL without any of them competing for the same ten minutes.
Why does UCL Fantasy only have 36 clubs?
Because it covers the Champions League league phase, so only clubs that qualified are in it. Domestic games cover every club in a league regardless of European qualification — Fantasy Football Europe has 96 clubs for that reason, including mid-table and promoted sides that will never be in UCL Fantasy.
