Fantasy Bundesliga, in English

Kane outscored every player in Europe last season, and most managers never had the chance to own him. All 18 clubs and 545 players are in the pool — and so is everyone from the other four of Europe's top leagues, in the same squad, under the same £100m.

The whole board

Every Bundesliga club is in the pool

All 18 clubs, every player at each of them, priced against the rest of Europe rather than against each other.

Who actually scored

The Bundesliga players worth owning

Eighteen clubs, not twenty — so a Bundesliga player gets 34 league matches rather than 38. That is four fewer chances to score you points, and it is the one honest argument against loading up here. It is also why the league's ceiling is so high: the top ten Bundesliga players cost more on average than any other league's top ten, and returned the single biggest total in the game. Ranked by points returned last season — no editorial thumb on the scale, and every number read straight out of the game's own pool.

Where the value is

The players below all cost £5.5m or less and all started regularly. A squad that fills its bench and its fourth and fifth defenders from this list is a squad that can afford two of the names in the table above — which is the whole trade every manager is making, every week.

How to use this league

Keep your favourites. Add the rest of Europe.

You do not have to choose. Take the Bundesliga players you would never sell, then fill the rest from Premier League, La Liga, Serie A or Ligue 1. The squad rules are the only limit: 15 players, £100m, three per club.

Fewer matches, bigger weeks

Thirty-four league games instead of thirty-eight sounds like a disadvantage and mostly is. But the Bundesliga's scoring distribution is the widest in the game: the gap between its best player and its tenth-best is larger than in any other league, which means the premium picks here are less replaceable than premium picks elsewhere.

Practically: if you are buying one expensive player from Germany, buy the best one. The second-tier options are further behind than the equivalent tier in Spain or England.

Questions

Fantasy Bundesliga, answered

Does the Bundesliga's 34-game season matter?

A little. Eighteen clubs means each plays 34 league matches rather than 38, so a Bundesliga player has four fewer opportunities than an English or Spanish one across a season. It is worth about ten per cent of a player's ceiling and is already reflected in the prices.

Is there a fantasy Bundesliga game in English?

Yes. Fantasy Football Europe covers all 18 Bundesliga clubs and 545 Bundesliga players in English, with the same rules as Fantasy Premier League. You can build a squad entirely from Bundesliga, or mix Bundesliga players with players from the other four of Europe's top leagues in the same team.

Can I build a squad only from Bundesliga?

You can. Last season the best legal XI drawn only from Bundesliga cost £84.0m of the £100m budget and returned 1739 points. Most managers use a league they know as the core and fill the rest of the squad from wherever the value is.

How many Bundesliga players are there to choose from?

545 in total across 18 clubs, of whom 236 played enough football last season to be worth owning. Prices run from £4.0m to £13.0m.

Is it free?

Yes — free to play, no entry fee, and it runs in any browser with nothing to download.
