Where this one wins
- It costs money to be competitive. Free entry exists, but the cards that win contests are bought. This is free, with no paid tier and nothing to buy.
- You cannot simply pick the best player. You can only field who you own. Here every one of 2,775 players is available to everyone, all the time.
- Five players is a different game. No bench, no auto-subs, no season-long squad management.
Both games are free to try and neither locks you out of the other. The honest recommendation for most people reading this page is to play both and drop whichever you stop opening.

Is there a free alternative to Sorare?
Yes. Sorare's competitive line-ups depend on cards you buy; Fantasy Football Europe is free with no paid tier and nothing to purchase, and every one of its 2,775 players is available to every manager simultaneously.
What is the difference between Sorare and a normal fantasy football game?
Ownership. In Sorare you can only field players whose digital cards you hold, so squad building is partly a collecting and trading game. In a conventional game like this one, everybody picks from the same full pool and the constraint is a shared budget rather than what you own.
Does Sorare have a bench and substitutions?
Sorare line-ups are small and there is no bench in the FPL sense. Fantasy Football Europe uses the familiar 15-man squad with four bench players and automatic substitutions when a starter does not appear.
